Hi! Sea Battle2015 version 2.0 was just uploaded and awaiting approval for download.
As stated below this version of the game has a Juke Box for playing music. Note: All files must be of 1 of 3 formats: MP3, Ogg, or Wav format. MP3 must be a standard MP3 format and any messing with the format probably will crash the game. I suggest that if you have any other type formats, download the Audasity program along with all plug-ins for it so you can convert almost any format to MP3, Ogg or Wav needed for the game. Audacity is very friendly for screen reader usage. Now the game: In the game control panel there are now 2 play list menus to select from. The alt-G will give you the old game background play list to add/delete files from Now added is the Juke Box menu item and the Alt-J will give you your options. Besides the 2 menu items are 2 buttons to take you to the same 2 dialogs for editing the play list. The difference between the lists is the Juke Box repeat entry will be noticed inside the game and as the play list is playing each music file will repeat the number of times you specify. Both dialogs use the same hotkeys and the Control-F will find any files you want to add by first copying it into your clipboard and you just go and add a new item and insert the file path using the Clipboard ctrl-V hotkey into the file path edit field. When playing the game the F9 key now has 2 options, F9 goes to the game background list and Shift-F9 takes you to the Juke Box play list and starts you where you want it to start. Hitting Escape from the Juke Box ends the playing of the list and inserts the last played music file as the background for the game. If you do not want it playing during the game then just hit F9 and select from that list. Now the hotkeys for both lists are using the standard home keys and arrow keys. Using Page Up/Down moves up and down the list 5 names at a time. Using Home and End mean what they say, Start of and end of the list. Now the left and right arrow keys Identify the file you are on, but in the Juke Box, the Left Arrow tells you what is playing and not where you may be on the list, only the right arrow key does that. Inside the Juke Box list the Return or Enter key starts the playing at the point you are on the list. Where in the Back Ground list it exits and uses that selection as your background. In the Juke Box you can change the repeat of files using keys 0 to 9. Also, both lists allow you to change the volume of the music playing by using the Delete key on the home key section. Just hitting the delete key and the volume goes up and shift Delete lowers the volume. The increments are .05 and about 20 adjustments from 0 to 1.0 can be made. So enjoy the game / Juke Box. Remember to download the Audacity and it's plug-ins if you want to change some of your files over to useable formats. I can give you the version to use and all it's plug-ins to download if you need them. Bruce Sent: Wednesday, August 19, 2015 11:47 AM Subject: Juke Box: Sea Battle Game 1.2 Hi! I delayed my posting of my Sea Battle 1.2 game to make sure the next revision of the Sea Battle game has a Juke Box for playing music besides the ability to just make a Play List. Tomorrow morning I will upload the game in for review. This game will have either a background play list or a Juke Box, playing of any music you desire in the background either with the game playing or not. The F9 key will be modified to include the Shift F9 that toggles between Juke Box and standard background play. Standard back ground just plays 1 selection continuously until changed. Also, from the control panel an option for just Juke Box will be added as a button to selected for just playing music and no game. So, the Sea Battle game can be either a music box or a game or both. What is the difference? Well, the game now plays one sound continuously once selected. That option remains if you toggle to the Back Ground option. Now if you toggle to the Juke Box, it places you into the Juke Box selection in which you have the same sounds and the number of repeats you want for each and it will play each music file for that number of repeats and move onto the next one in the list; where the back ground stays on only one music file. Note: I may have to Play Lists in the control panel instead. While in the Juke Box if you hit a number from 0 to 9 you get that number of repeats for the music presently playing and modifies it's repeats until you exit the app or change it again. Note: Entering a number restarts it's play again and repeats it based on that number. Also, other hotkeys are the ability to go up and down the list without changing the play using the up arrow or down arrow keys. Those keys give the name on the list and the number of repeats it has been set for. Using the Left and Right arrow keys just says that selected music file name again without doing 2 key strokes to get back to the same selection. Hitting the Return or Enter key starts your playing at the location on the list you have moved to and plays to the end of the list after each repeat has been played for each music file. Or, hitting the shift Up or Shift Down arrow keys will immediately start playing the music file you moved to without having to hit the Return key. In the future I may have the app as Juke Box and option to play a game instead of it being a game app with an option to be a Juke Box. In other words, I will post it at app central as Juke Box 1.0 with an option to play any games I placed inside of it, so the default is just a back ground music app. So hopefully I will have it uploaded tomorrow. Bruce Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2015 3:47 PM Subject: Sea Battle Game 1.2 Hi! Sea Battle 1.2 will be uploaded and will include a playlist you can construct. I also fixed the volume adjustment using the Home key since at the moment it is either on or off and no adjustment. All of it works and MP3 also works as long as the MP3 format is a standard format. It may crash if not. I am working on a continuous play of the entire list without touching it. At the moment each list entry is played when manually selected only using the F9 key in the game. The list is constructed in the Sea Battle control panel with the game defaults listed initially and all stored inside the .ini file for the game. Your music file list of MP3, .ogg, and .wav are entered with the complete path to the file needed or it will error not being able to find it. I will have a file finder ability in the future for it, at the moment you either copy and paste the file name/path or manually enter it in the control panel dialog for Play List. The dialog is gotten by either pressing the button or selecting it from the menu. So, version 1.2 gives you a back ground play list that you can manually enter in the control panel and play it in the game when selecting the F9 key option for selecting back ground music. Also the Home key adjustment for back ground volume has been fixed since I did not remember to use only decimal increments since the volume only goes from 0, (off) and 1.0 for maximum volume. I just wrote it using + 1 or - 1 and did not test it. So the back ground volume goes from 0 to 1 in increments of .1 each time you press the Home Key or Shift Home. So, it should be posted by tomorrow.
