Hi fellow app developers, or those so-interested (Smile), I'm just forwarding this, which came to my inbox, and yet didn't make it to the scripting list; Well, put it this way: my message rule seemed to miss it. Smile.
Thanks, Rod -----Original Message----- From: Scripting [mailto:scripting-bounces+rod_hutton=hotmail....@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of David via Scripting Sent: March 19, 2016 10:35 AM To: GWScripting <script...@window-eyes.com> Subject: Reading the Cursor-focused Character I have a tiny project on the slate here, and have attempted to find my way in the Reference Manual, but seemingly without much luck. What I need to do, is to "catch" the character on the screen, that in any given case, is focused by the System Cursor. OK, I see ways to read for instance the caracter focused by the Braille cursor, but what if a user does not have a Braille display. And, what if the system cursor is at the bottom of the screen, and you Braille your way at top of the document. So, listers and driven developers, is there a way to retrieve the character under the System cursor, even if it is at a Menu Item, a text-based Control (like a button or link), or if it is in the middle of your text document. Can this be done with a few simple lines of coding, or will I need to invent a whole new gear box? Even, is it me who am overlooking something in the manual? Was just searching for cursor, but did not find what I had hoped to find. Thanks for your input.ya -- David _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
