yeah CPAN has a lot of screwy ideas. There were problems with the distribution import and so the metadata got kinda screwy <snip installing from CPAN> As for the install failure, it looks like it is that the test is failing because Fedora Core 1 doesn't have libSDL_ttf installed, and the test isn't smart enough to ignore tests for missing features.
