I don't have hard data but my guess is that ActivePerl is still used the most
but Strawberry Perl is catching up fast and it will surpass ActivePerl soon.
Especially once some enlarged version of Strawberry will also include Padre.

You can already download the "Almost Six" package that includes
Strawberry Perl, Padre, Rakudo and the Perl 6 plugin of Padre.

My guess is that Perl on Cygwin is used a lot less than either of the above two.

So IMHO the most important would be to make sure that SDL works well
on Strawberry Perl and ActivePerl.


My hope is that we can build a plugin for Padre to make SDL development
easier and then to include both SDL and that plugin in a future release of
Strawberry Perl.
On that platform we can start to offer games or whatever people build using
SDL Perl.
