so i got to thinking about lyrics, after reading posts like this...
does anyone else find it amazing that humans could write such amazing lyrics? as a
musician myself, i often (who am i kidding), always find it rather difficult to come
up with a decent set of lyrics, and when i do, i feel embarassed about singing them,
or even showing them to anyone...i find it remarkable that people like jeremy enigk
can write such amazing things...
other great lyricists are (in my opinion) tim kinsella (caP'n Jazz, and later joan of
arc) for his word association (getting away with having no theme, just writing what
certain words make him think of), and davey vonbohlen (promise ring) for his ever so
honest lyrics...these two lyricist's words, arent neccessarily as poetic as
jeremy/dan's, but hold a certain honest quality, which, when i hear them, make me say,
"yeah, thats what i was thinking, i just didnt know how to say it." you know what i
mean? im sorry. those are just two song writers that i thought should get some credit,
along with jeremy, and dan, for great lyricists....
mikie!
