Since I am somewhat new to the list I thought I would tell you all why sdre is the greatest band around, reagardless of who they sign with. My story: I left the country for two years after sunny day real estate had finished the pink album and had called it quits, so i was quite disappointed having missed my only two chances to see them perform, once in bumbershoot for all the seattle folks, my parents thought i was two young and at green river community college in my hometown of auburn wa. When I got home last summer from europe i found out that they had reunited and were bringing an album out. I bought hiftbso as soon as i could and was anticipating the first oppurtunity to see them live. My friends in utah got the first chance then followed them over to boise and went back to school. we missed portland. I had only purchased one ticket for myself up at western wa. uni. when the friends from utah called and said they were going to come up as well. I thought "it wont sell out, we'll get tickets before the show for them, it's in bellingham." boy i was wrong and suddenly we were forced into a dire situation. the folks at the door said "sorry no ticket no show" I couldn't have let my friends sit in the car and wait as i enjoyed what was one of the greatest nights of my life, it called for drastic measures. suddenly out of the corner of my eye I spotted joe (the bassist) who i recognized from going to tons of posies shows in junior high. i saw him sneak into a side door and i thought "what do i got to lose?" went turned the handle and it was unlocked. walked in right past the campus security who stopped me when joe turned and said "he's cool, he's with us" WOW so i walked right past all the opening acts and into a room with joe and two other people (who i later got to know as Greg williamson and his girlfriend who name has slipped my head (i am so forgetful)). I sat down with the the later and started talking to her about the new album what they would play that night how the tour has been etc. then explained my predicament with my friends. No problem, in a moment they were put on the guest list that now hangs from the wall of my friends dorm room in provo utah. problem taken care of so i thought i wouldnt bother them anymore and started for the door. "Arent you going to have a drink or stay for food?" she asked as jeremy and dan came in. "sure" story goes on but i got to hang out with the most gracious band that i have ever met even sit in as they picked out the set list. I like to think that I helped them add song about an angel to the rest of the tour, i mentioned it and they played it. it's my favorite. after watching entertainment tonight with them i knew it was time to get back to my friends. what a show, if you were there you know what i mean.
