heres my guesses, both the autograph and pic apply:
1. maybe they didnt have a bassist at the time. i remember that they
recorded with jeff palmer, then he left and they picked up joe before
touring.
2. if they had a bassist, he may not have felt like he was a "full member"
and thus worthy of signing or posing.
the recent pic is probably from the same time of the autographs, during all
the promotion for HIFTBSO.
