This is an interesting discourse.  The point about emotion on the pre-
break up albums is that it's almost just one continuous vague, gloomy
emotion throughout.  On How it feels... and Rising Tide I think there is
definitely some emotion there, emotions that never appeared on the first
two, such as the exultation of The Prophet and The Ocean, the doom of
Killed by an Angel, Snibe, and Days were Golden, the optimism of One.
It's not that there's no emotion, they're just different emotions 
(thankfully) other than angst.  I think another reason why there is this
emotion gap is that on the Rising Tide Jeremy is singing more of Dan's
words than his own.

I just wish they were playing How it feels... (the song) live instead of 100 
million.  Either way, they'll rock in Chicago, I'm sure.
