Yep, I've got Perian installed... it's not a playback issue. The audio plays fine... until you try to export it.
This seems to be a QuickTime 7.6 issue. It's not Leopard related... I had this same problem on my dual G5 running Tiger. (If you export the audio in QuickTime 7.5, it works correctly.)
