I am available for Rails and Ruby work, full-time or contract in San Diego, especially North County, with telecommuting if elsewhere. I consider myself a mid-level developer with a little over a year with web, Ruby, and Rails experience, though lots of other software experience and 15 years as an independent contractor/consultant. See my web site http://www.ReflectiveLogic.com for more information about me.
I post this with the blessing of our leader, Patrick, and others are welcome to add themselves to this thread. Eventually the SDRuby site may have a place for announcements by those seeking work. BTW, several of us attended LA Ruby Conf 2009 yesterday, there were 115 in attendance. At the beginning one of the organizers asked "How many here work for a company with more than 500 employees?". Mainly those with AT&T Interactive raised their hands. He asked further for a show of hands from 100, 50, 10, etc, ending with "And how many are freelancers, working by themselves?" When he paused and seemed to have no further questions, I piped up with "And how many are seeking employment?" and raised my hand, as did a few others. Afterward two startups buttonholed me to talk about possible contract work. Lesson: If the organizers of a conference have not included some formal way for firms and potential workers to meet, ask them to do so, don't wait for luck to present an opportunity as it did this time. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ SD Ruby mailing list [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/sdruby -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
