Here's the lineup for tonight's meeting! HOTRUBY + JQUERY: RUBY IN THE BROWSER Daniel Moore will demonstrate using the HotRuby VM to execute Ruby code natively in the browser. The demonstration shows how Ruby can call native JS libraries, like jQuery, to perform DOM manipulation.
HAPPY MONDAYS Kris Schlesser will demo Happy Mondays, his new Rails app that leverages user generated content to raise money for a good cause. JUST A JOKE? SEXISM AND THE RUBY COMMUNITY Erik Pukinskis asks, "Why are certain groups (women, people of color, etc) under-represented in geek circles? Is it an issue SDRuby wants to be involved in, and what can we do?" RAFFLE We'll be giving away a shiny new Peepcode and a copy of RubyMine. T-SHIRTS We have a few extra shirts for sale.
