SD Ruby, Here's an opportunity to build a Rails application from scratch, from "rails ~/myapp" to launch, on a contract basis for a new local start- up. I'd love to do it myself but I'm tapped-out with other Rails projects and a day job!
My client is looking for an experienced Rails developer who can implement a social networking-related business application in an industry currently lacking anything similar. This is a chance to use your talent and creativity to build a Rails app with the potential to transform the way a multi-billion dollar industry does business. The client has done quite a bit of research into what they want the application to do, has extensive experience in and superb knowledge of the target industry and is eager to launch the web application as soon as possible. They are open to suggestions on how to optimize the business value of the social networking aspects of this application, so bring your good ideas! Some artistic talent with graphic design is a plus but not required. They have retained me to help finalize the initial design and hire a Rails developer to bring the application to life. I will act in a technical management role during development and will meet regularly with you and the client. I can provide a test server and source code repository if necessary. The contract hourly development rate is negotiable with the client. The potential for follow-on development work is very high.
