Regarding issues/annoyances - there was an outage about a year ago for half a day that got a bunch of clients pretty worked up. Other than that it's been really solid for the past several years.
One annoyance -- they don't support the + in an email address like Gmail does for appending to an address (for filtering, circumventing address uniqueness checks, etc).
