This influential role will take ownership of the complete back end software of their technology platform. You’ll be using RoR and Restful API’s on a disruptive SaaS analytics platform that is solving a multi-billion dollar problem. You will work closely with the product team leadership to translate the platform vision into compelling, cutting-edge backend capabilities that will continue to differentiate their platform in the marketplace. You will be responsible for all stages of the software development life cycle in an agile team and deliver innovative solutions to business by collaborating directly with business and product team leaders. The team is a supportive, non-political startup environment that is people oriented and values your opinions. *Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities* • Design, develop, test, and deliver back end components for the technology platform • Collaborate with IT and Product leadership in evolving the next generation of the platform • Own the evolution of the Restful APIs for the platform • Implement integrations with external data providers and lenders leveraging their APIs • Take leadership in adoption of leading edge web technology initiatives such as SOA, business process automation, test driven development and continuous integration principles. • Provide mentorship and technical direction to other team members • Be a subject matter expert on Ruby and Rails and all back end aspects of the technology • Champion a culture of quality and proactive in solving issues • Actively work with IT leadership in implementing continuous process improvements *Job Requirements: * - Must have 3 or more years of web software development - At least 1 year of Ruby on Rails experience - Good understanding of ORM (Rails Active Record), Restful APIs (JSON), integration techniques with 3rd party web systems - Development experience with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL - Exposure to open source technologies and UI frameworks (such as AngularJS) - Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, cross-functional and agile setting - Exposure to cloud development platforms such as Amazon AWS is a plus - Demonstrable experience in solving challenging problems - Exposure to latest trends in software engineering such as SOA, TDD, Continuous Integration, automated test frameworks is a plus - Passionate about learning everything they can about a chosen industry; inquisitive, curious and creative. - Comes to work, every day, excited about helping others. - Understands the importance of confidentiality and holds themselves to unwavering ethical standards. · Ideal personality traits: Friendly, social, outgoing, positive, passionate, detail oriented, quick learner, multitasker, NOT egotistical, and also ideal possess a great sense of humor. - Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus - Understanding of finance, banking, and/or lending industry preferred; other areas of interest: ecommerce, transactional software, web analytics, big data analytics - Demonstrable experience in solving challenging problems and continuous improvement *Education:* Bachelor’s in Computer Science or similar degree preferred.
