Hey Jordan, Both Kedit and Jedit (not really related at all) have the kind of file/project interface your looking for.
Kedit has a drawer that simply hooks up to the directory like TextMate. It is a KDE app, but I think it only depends on Qt... frankly it's been a while, but it is pretty solid. Jedit has a Projects plugin that is more feature-full than either. It's a very powerful editor, but it can become quite the resource hog if you go crazy with plugins (though no Eclipse). I've yet to find anything that TextMate can do that Jedit can't. Having said, I'm using TM pretty much exclusively these days. Rob On 8/16/06, Nick Zadrozny <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Well, Eclipse is worth a shot. It's big and heavy and Java, but it has a similar (bigger and heavier) file browser and can support Ruby. There are a couple of tutorials out there for editing Ruby with Eclipse, which also suggest that there's a bit of a community of ruby devs using Eclipse growing. I haven't used those other editors you mentioned. I've been using Eclipse for Java development at work for a few years now and it's pretty decent. I usually edit in both Eclipse and TextMate side by side here at work. -- Nick Zadrozny _______________________________________________ Sdruby mailing list [email protected] http://lists.sdruby.com/mailman/listinfo/sdruby
