LEAD STORY

OPENWORLD: ELLISON TURNS BIG BLUE RED | News: searchDatabase

for Big Blue.

BEWARE THE IDEs OF, ERR, WEBSPHERE? | Tip: By Jim Keohane

Have you played with IBM's Visual Age Integrated Development
Environments (IDEs) for Java? How about VAJ's incremental compiling?
What do you think of the object-based, rather than file based,
orientation? Well, it's all being superceded by WebSphere Studio
WorkBench on top of the open-source Eclipse IDE.

THE MISSING LINK | A Web hoax pokes fun at M.I.T.'s Media Lab

It's a case of turning the tables on M.I.T. Remember those wacky
Massachusetts Institute of Technology students who pull high-profile
pranks? Well, now the joke is on the jokesters at the institute's
offbeat Media Laboratory. A student there has launched a parody Web
site that describes a lab obsessed with the effects technology has on
-- ready? -- eroticism! Apparently more than a few techies are
enjoying a good laugh. The specious site is so popular it's slowing
down the network. (Free registration to this site is required.)
