ASK THE EXPERT | Category: Systems Programming

Dear Ask the Expert,

We currently use CLIO for file transfers to/from an OS/390 & S7A
RS6000. Is CLIO compatible with OS/390 2.10? We are upgrading soon.
If not, what would you suggest in place of CLIO?

SEARCH390 DISCUSSION FORUM | Developer

Search390 member ronnyup posted the following in the OS/390 forum and
needs your help: Does anyone have experience in controlling an
Oracle instance with ODSI running on OS/390? Our plan is to run in a
LPAR together with CICS and some quite heavy batch jobs which can
kick off at any time. I suspect that Oracle (running at a low
priority as advised by Oracle) will grind to a halt if CICS and batch
gets busy. We are experimenting with workload manager but until the
**** hits the fan it's hard to know what will happen!

Think you can help with ronnyup's problem? If so, please share your
thoughts and suggestions. To post a response, click on the url below:

THE MISSING LINK | Jailbirds remember porridge online

They did the crime, they did the time, now they're going online. Cons
and ex-cons are revisiting the days they spent counting the days. A
new site, www.convictsreunited.com, is an online gathering place for
those who want to catch up with their peers from the pokey. It was
the "time" of their lives after all! The site was originally set up
as a joke -- a spoof of all those high school and college reunion
sites. But some 3,000 people signed up!
