How many or what percentage of COBOL Programs are OS/VS COBOL in the market place? Have any surveys been done or has IBM made any of this information available? How long do we have until they will no longer work? >>CLICK for Tom's response... http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid429988_tax285603,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= CICS TRAN-O-SERVICE REXX | by Jim Keohane REXX for CICS (a.k.a. Beats me. >>CLICK for the full tip... http://www.search390.com/tip/1,289483,sid10_gci790670,00.html >>CLICK for previous CICS tips... http://search390.techtarget.com/tipsIndex/0,289482,sid10_tax288579,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= DOW FOR ANY DATE | by search390 user John Sleight Jr. In recent versions of COBOL we were given the ability to determine the day of week for the current day via the ACCEPT DATE function. A number from 0 to 6 was returned to signify the DOW from Sunday (0) thru Saturday (6). Sadly this ability was restricted to the current date. But the Net is hardly the root of all office dilly-dallying, at least not in the U.K. A recent survey found that making tea, gossiping, cleaning the cubicle, reading the paper and even gazing out the window were more popular time killers than Web surfing. In the battle of windows versus Windows, this round goes to the former.
