I live in a small (pop. 125,000) Mid-Western city. I am currently working on my MBA with hopes of moving into management. The past year I have been playing with Linux on the mainframe as well as learning Unix System Services. I now have the opportunity to move laterally into the Unix group. The mainframe environment has stabilized in terms of adding new applications and clients. The Unix environment is growing steadily. I doubt that you would suggest I make the move, but why should I stay? What do I need to consider? >>CLICK here for Rick Nashleanas' response: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid429479_tax285449,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= SEARCH390 DISCUSSION FORUM | Operating Systems Search390 member Osipov posted the following in the Operating Systems forum and needs your help: What equipment now has substituted IBM P/390? A smart scale in Australia gave people a real pounding, at least emotionally. The scale not only measured height and weight, it also "weighed in" with some heavily harsh words. One woman got on the scale and came off with a computerized printout that said "Get off fat pig!" Another man, who weighs only 176 pounds, was told "You are a little overweight. Fat %#$@." That's not the kind of warm and fuzzy Richard Simmonsesque motivation these people expected. So, the scale's been removed. Company officials think someone "made the scale do it" because it normally says stuff like "Happy New Year."
