I'd like to introduce the premier TCP/IP and SNA performance monitor,
Vital Signs VisionNet (VSV). VSV is the only monitor with a single,
central repository capable of reporting on both OS/390 (or z/OS) and
non-OS/390 devices. VSV provides detailed reports on TCP/IP status,
FTP, CSM efficiency, Socket activity, and Telnet activity, at
considerably lower prices than competing products. For your free

BIG BLUE TEAMS WITH BEA, MICROSOFT ON WEB SERVICES | News: iSeries
Network
They may be rivals, but IBM, Microsoft and BEA Systems are among a
handful of companies pulling together to create the Web Services
Interoperability Organization (WS-I). Despite the fierce competition
in the Web application server space between some of the WS-I members,
the chance to work together to accelerate the development of
cross-industry, language-neutral Web services is too good to miss,
the companies say.

With the appointment of a former Lotus executive to head up its new
Storage Software organization, IBM is placing more emphasis on the
software part of the storage business -- a direction many of its

THE MISSING LINK | Thin Mints in cyberspace

Be sure to save room in your inbox for Thin Mints. Girl Scout
cookies, those boxed bits of baked bliss, are Do-Si-Doing online
thanks to parents who are using cyberspace to sell their daughters'
shortbreads. E-mail is becoming a more popular way to get the word
out that it's Samoa season -- a lot quicker than going door to door
or cubicle to cubicle. The Girl Scouts organization says it's fine to
cut cookie deals through e-mail to make some dough, as long as the
scout helps write the e-mails and doesn't make her mom or dad do all
the work.
