You're not alone. PL/I coders get their knuckles rapped if they overdo usage of PUT/GET EDIT/DATA. C coders are likewise encouraged to limit formatted I/O via printf's and scanf's. "Why don't you behave like the COBOL coders do and simply use READs and WRITEs?" they are asked. Never mind that COBOL doesn't allow much beyond DISPLAYs. Record I/O is a performance benefit. Consider tweaking your Java servlet or application to use Java Record I/O (JRIO). >> CLICK for the Full Tip: http://www.search390.com/tip/1,289483,sid10_gci801605,00.html Got a WebSphere tip of your own? The problem is that the file names are dynamic. I tried to use wildcards in my GET command. I also tried Rename. Both commands failed when I used asterisk.eg: Get AS*.dat. How do I get around this? The wildcards work when I use them in a different FTP Client Environment like my PC DOS command prompt. >> CLICK for Jim's answer: http://search390.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid10_cid446318_tax285032,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= TAKE OUR POLL | search390 Have your storage considerations changed since integrating your mainframe with the Web? >> CLICK to post your response: http://search390.techtarget.com/poll =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- SEARCH390 TIPS CONTEST | Win a PenCam 64MB Mini Digital Camera!
