IBM CLOSES DEALS WITH SUNGARD, ALCATEL UNITS | News: Reuters IBM has cut a deal to sell financial services software from SunGard Data Systems. The deal broadens the corporate services offering of IBM's largest business unit. Despite the fact that SunGard competes with IBM in the disaster recovery services market, it will rework its major applications to operate on IBM's servers and increase its use of IBM's DB2 database platform. Typically there are 100 plus TSO users (max TSO user is 375), 175 plus test CICS region and some batch workload. During prime shift in compatibility mode we were running at 100 % with acceptable response time batch throughput etc. When we switched to goal mode, batch jobs took forever to complete, discretionary never got any CPU, and CICS and TSO response time suffered. We also noticed our paging to expanded increased four fold. We have defined 8work load with 20 service classes in the policy. The end users are complaining. Any suggestion/comments?"
