HOW TO DEFINE HOST VARIABLE IN ASSEMBLER FOR DB2? | by Willie Favero
Dear Ask the Expert,
I'm working on an assembler program that will act as an interface
between a homemade transaction monitor and DB2. I'm currently using
RRSAF to connect to DB2. I would like to define a DB2 table in the
program so I can test some SQL response times. If it were COBOL I
could use DCLGEN. How can I define the host variable in the assember
program for the DB2 table?

the legacy systems reside on OS/390. We want to build an application
integration infrastructure, but we are not sure what technology to go
with - traditional EAI or Web services?

HOW SHOULD THINGS RUN IN GOAL MODE? | by Steve Samson
Dear Ask the Expert,
Previously, we always ran IMS control and DLI regions at a higher
priority than the IMS message regions. With goal mode, they are both
defined as STC_HI and the IMS transactions are defined as 85 percent
in 0.5 seconds. This sometimes causes the message regions to run at a
higher priority than the control region. So, in the delay monitor,
the control region may have more cpu delay than the message regions.
Is this the way things should run in goal mode? We also use I/O
service and have databases on a Shark box with 1-3 msec response
time.

SEARCH390 DISCUSSION FORUMS | Developer
Search390 user "tedshelly1" posted the following in the Developer
forum and needs your help: "I'm trying to make use of the command
file option of ftp, so as to automate ftp transfers. I'm on a Win NT
or 2000 client to a 390 host. I use the -s<filename> option and then
have the commands I want to execute in the file specified. The first
command in the file is "user <username>", but I can't get past the
password prompt. I can find no command to send the password. Anyone
know how to do this?"
