UNISYS UPDATES MAINFRAME LINE | News: Enterprise Systems
Unisys Corp. announced three new ClearPath Plus mainframe models on
Monday. The new mainframes - which include value-added niceties such
as workload pricing, development discounts and storage-on-demand -
are intended to refresh Unisys' ClearPath midrange line.
LINUX SOFTWARE COMPANY SIGNS DEALS | News: CNET
SWsoft has signed deals to sell its product in conjunction with Dell
and IBM servers. The Magnum-SC servers include SWsoft's Virtuozzo
software installed on IBM or Dell servers with as many as eight
processors.
IBM USING LINUX, XML FOR NEW STORAGE PRODUCTS | News: Computerworld
As part of IBM's recent announcement about its storage software
product plans, the company said it will develop applications based on
Linux and proposed XML standards and will allow administrators to
pool resources from disparate servers, disk arrays and platforms.

THE MISSING LINK | Survey: Technology blamed for increased workloads
You've heard of killing someone with kindness but what about killing
someone with convenience? TMP Worldwide, a recruiting firm, asked
some 5,000 workers in a variety of fields how technology has improved
their professional lives. Evidently, their lives are being
conveniently crushed. Half of the queried masses said tech advances
have made their workloads heavier because so much more output is
expected of them. More than 40% of the respondents said tech is
stressing them out thanks to cell phones and home Internet
connections. TMP says if you're stressed, you need to... oh, wait ...
let me answer this instant message first ... OK, you need to breathe
deeply and focus on a happy place ... is that your cell or mine?
