SOLVE THE DUPLICATE NAME PROBLEM | by Steven Swoyer

If you've upgraded your WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
environment from an earlier version to rev. 4.0.3, you may think that
you've stumbled upon an irksome new feature when you attempt to
update an existing application by using the "Install Enterprise
Application" installation wizard.

That's because, in most cases, WAS returns an error message
--"Duplicate EJB JNDI Name" -- after you've gone through the
rigmarole of selecting your application from among a list of
installed EJBs.

DOUBLE UP WAS INSALLATIONS | by Steven Swoyer

Do you want to install separate versions of WebSphere Application
Server (WAS) on the same physical server or LPAR? An approach of this
kind makes a lot of sense if you need to consolidate WAS 3.5.x and
WAS 4.0.x, or if you're testing and certifying WAS 3.5.x applications
for a future WAS 4.0.x migration. Find out what a project like this
entails in this tip.
