WHAT ARE SOME OPTIONS FOR SENDING EMAIL FROM S/390? | by Jim Keohane

Dear Ask the Expert,
We are building a Web-based application using Java, JSP, IBM
WebSphere on AIX box and DB2 in S/390. One of our requirements is to
send email from S/390 mainframe batch processes. We are looking into
different options to send email from S/390. I found JES2FTP software
which enables us to do that. Can you please let me know of any other
ways?

THE MISSING LINK | Survey says AOL stinks

AOL may want to change its "You've got mail" greeting to "We've got
issues." The University of Michigan did a customer satisfaction
survey of Web portals. AOL flunked with flying colors, scoring 59 out
of a possible 100 points. Just think, if that were a test in school,
AOL's parents would be notified and it would have to come back for
Saturday class. AOL says the survey failed to take into account its
online service, which it claims gets high marks from customers. But
researchers say the big fat "F" in the portal study could be a
symptom of even bigger problems. Yahoo, by the way, got the highest
grade with 76. MSN scored a 72. The average score was 68. Those
portals could have used a curve!
