The government has evidently pulled the search engine off the tracks. It seems the politicians don't care for the content Google pulls up, particularly pornography, anything associated with the banned spiritual movement Falun Gong and information believed to be a threat to national security. So the government has thrown up some kind of great firewall to keep Google out. But there is a workaround. Chinese surfers can hop on Yahoo, which is still available and uses Google for searches.
