EQUIVALENT OF CICS GETMAIN/FREEMAIN IN COBOL | by Tom Ross

Dear Ask the Expert,
Is there a way in batch COBOL to perform the equivalent of a CICS
getmain/freemain? I believe we can write an assembler routine, but I
would prefer to write a COBOL program. I would like to dynamically
allocate/free storage for very large MQ messages instead of defining
in working storage and holding this massive area for virtually 24x7.

NEED HELP USING JCA IN JAVA TO TALK TO CICS? | by Robert Harris

Dear Ask the Expert,
I am using a JCA adapter mechanism in Java to talk to a CICS program
running on the mainframe. We use Java-J2EE technology with
application deployed on IBM WebSphere. I have been getting the
following errors consistently for large transactions in Java:

CTG9631E: Error occurred during interaction with CICS. Error
Code=ECI_ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR
javax.resource.spi.ResourceAdapterInternalException: CTG9631E: Error
occurred during interaction with CICS. Error
Code=ECI_ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR

SEARCH390.COM DISCUSSION FORUMS | Developer

Search390.com user "envymurali" posted the following in the Developer
forum and needs your help: "We have a DLL (COBOL DLL with a C
interface) being used in CICS TS 1.3 and built as non-reentrant and
non-reusable. Is it true that CICS or LE will treat the DLL as
re-entrant even though it is built as non-reentrant? I did not
believe it because then the option of having a non-reentrant program
is defeated."

Think you can help? If so, please share your thoughts and
suggestions. Click to post a response:
