GETTING ERROR WHEN USING FETCH STATEMENT IN DB2? | by Craig Mullins

Dear Ask the Expert,
We are using DB2 V7 on OS/390 and trying scrollable cursors in a
stored procedure. When we try to use the FETCH statement (FETCH
ABSOLUTE FROM INTO ;), it throws for the host variable and says
"variable should be zero scale." I had declared the variable as an
INTEGER and I even tried it with DECIMAL(n,0), but I get the same
error.

HOW TO GET STORAGE FROM COBOL? | by Tom Ross

Dear Ask the Expert,
I would like to move an area in working storage to the linkage
section and acquire the storage as needed. Is this possible? If so
how?

HOW TO CREATE MQSERIES VERSION OF CICS SYSTEM? | by Robert Harris

Dear Ask the Expert,
We have a system selling passenger train tickets. This system is
running under OS/390 and uses CICS TS V1R2 and DB2 V5.2. Now we want
to develop a client-server version of our system using MQSeries. We
want to change the client's part of our system. The system's kernel
must stay the same. (The new version must support our legacy system.)
Where do we begin?

SEARCH390.COM FEATURED TOPIC | Ready or not, here comes z/OS

Mixed feelings about upgrading from a 31-bit to a 64-bit
architecture? Some have already upgraded, but others feel forced now
that IBM will no longer support some earlier releases of OS/390. Is
that you? If so, we can help with this Featured Topic.

OPERATING SYSTEMS FORUM | Can you solve IP PrintWay output dilemma?

Search390.com user "BlueKnight" posted the following in the Operating
Systems forum and needs your help: "We are running OS/390 2.9,
CICS/TS 1.3 and IP PrintWay on a Multiprise 3000 series box. One of
our user departments intermittently has IP printer output printing
out of sequence and would like it corrected. I thought I had seen
somewhere a configuration option for PrintWay that specified how to
handle output sequencing. Our System Programmer says not so. Does
anyone know of a parameter for PrintWay or even NetSpool that would
keep output in the proper order?"

Think you can help? If so, please share your suggestions:
