CONVERT CICS MEMORY-RESIDENT FILES TO LOAD MODULES | by Jim Keohane

No sooner did Jim Keohane finish some code for his next CICS tip did
he discover IBMers Mark Cocker and Peter Havercan already put the
same functionality (and more) in a very recent IBM SupportPAC CA8I.
In this tip, he offers you both methods, and explains how you can
improve CICS performance by implementing one of these utilities.

PERFORMANCE ISSUES WHEN CICS IS MORE THAN 80% BUSY | Ask the Expert

Dear Robert Harris,
For some time, a rule of thumb has been that a CICS region should not
be more than 80% busy. This was when a CICS address space had only
one TCB. The latest versions of CICS have three and four TCBs. The
major TCB, when looking at CICS shutdown stats, is the Quasi
(QR-TCB).

It is my understanding that you can determine how busy the QR-TCB is
by dividing the accumulated CPU time by the accumulated time the TCB
was dispatched. If this percent busy is at 80% or greater, will there
be performance issues?
