ASK THE EXPERTS: Should I recompile when moving to a new compiler?
A Search390.com user asked Tom Ross, our COBOL expert:
We are migrating COBOL compiler to Enterprise COBOL. Currently we are working with IBM COBOL for OS/390 and VM 2.2.2.We are using DB2 V. 7 and CICS 2.2. I checked whether I need any code changes and figured out that no code changes are required for migration. I am aware that the old load modules would continue to work without any problems but I still have a question. How important/significant is it to compile all programs before I migrate to this new compiler version? Can somebody explain this to me?

Theme park officials say it's not their job to keep the cubicles full and, besides, what's wrong with taking a day off to have fun?
