And it was about as successful on those famous grass courts as Anna Kournikova. Minutes after she beat Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova borrowed her father's cell phone to call her mother and tell her the good news. But Mom would have to catch it on ESPN. Maria couldn't get through, and a surefire commercial for a cell phone company died right there. At least she won the empathy of the entire global audience.
