The delay could inadvertently give Linux a leg up, noting that 64-bit versions of that operating system are available that support both IBM's DB2 and Oracle's database software. IBM tries to curb outsourcing layoffs [CNNMoney] IBM will try to reduce the damage of its offshore outsourcing practices by finding jobs for many of the 5000 jobs sent overseas. The company has cranked out a sweet mobile that's tailor-made for kids -- it comes in cool colors and has an antenna shaped like an ear. What the kids may not know is that the phone also packs a GPS device so Mom and Dad always know where their little wireless wonder has wandered.
