ADVICE:  Trigger basics in DB2 and OS/390
A Search390.com user asked Craig Mullins, our DB2 and database management expert:
I recently read your article here and I have a question. TableA is a high transaction table. TableB is essentially a copy of TableA with indexes for reporting. I want to create an insert/update trigger on TableA to replicate the change to TableB. I'm worried about performance. Mainly, will TableA be locked up until the commit on TableB completes? Or, will DB2 spawn another process to handle TableB? Maybe you could also direct me to information on this problem? Thank you very much for your time.

The Missing Link

'Cyberchondria' -- the surfer's sickness
[Agence France Presse]
Sometimes too much information can make you sick. Or at least make you THINK you're sick. Researchers in the U.K. say they've found that people who surf too many health sites to learn about symptoms and treatments sometimes get bad info, misdiagnose themselves and make unnecessary runs to the doctor. You could say they make mountains out of moles or cancer out of cold sores. Health pros call this "cyberchondria" -- but what do you call people who just THINK they're cyberchondriacs?
