[1] "Alien" email abduction can't stop the iSeries"
A number of adventurous iSeries users looked to the skies
and joined in the search for extraterrestrials when the
SETI@home project became available on the AS/400 last year.
Instead of finding alien life, some may find spam -- not
the canned variety, but the junk that clutters inboxes. An
unknown hacker broke into SETI's servers and stole the
email addresses of an unknown number of SETI@home
participants.

[2] "IBM continues courting ISVs, expands BroadVision
alliance"
IBM's expanded alliance with BroadVision could put the
pinch on BEA Systems since, BEA's WebLogic competes with
IBM's WebSphere in the application server market. IBM has
formed numerous alliances with ISVs in the last year in an
effort to bolster its software sales by tying its
middleware products to big-selling applications from such
vendors as Siebel Systems, Peoplesoft, Ariba and J.D.
Edwards.

If you experience problems with WebSphere administration,
your applications servers don't start, or the console

obscure IBM document describing how to export and import an

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
--------------------------------------------

"Having a bad day? It's hilarious"
Ever seen the MPEG of that portly office worker who becomes
angry at his computer and eventually smashes his helpless
monitor before sending it flying out of camera range? Since
1997, viewers have wondered whether the clip came from a
surveillance camera or if it was really a hoax. Well, it's
actually a little of both as it came from an advertising
campaign for surveillance computers from Loronix
Information Systems in Durango, Colo.
