LEAD STORY
"Newer isn't always better with iSeries upgrades"
Here's a little known fact. Most 7xx upgrades are more
cost-effective if the upgrade is to the original I-Star
8xx-processor feature rather than to the new S-Star 8xx
models.

[1] "Lotus pushes Domino services"
Lotus is creating tools that will make it easier to extend
its Domino-based messaging and collaboration applications
to the Web, a move that follows Microsoft's similar efforts
around Exchange and .Net. The IBM subsidiary will offer a
Web services enablement kit that will allow developers to
take components of Lotus collaboration applications and
embed them as services in other Lotus applications or in
non-Lotus Web applications.

ASNA has spent the last month beta-testing new releases of

development environment for OS/4000 and Windows servers and
its related Acceler8DB (ADB) database. But sources say that
the original summer release date for the products is likely
to be pushed back to the end of the summer -- maybe even
September.

"Doctor Who is back!"
"Doctor Who" has been more like Doctor Where the last five
years. The BBC's sci-fi hero has been on hiatus, but he's
coming back, this time over the Internet. The BBC's Web site
will broadcast an all-audio episode called "Death Comes to
Time" on July 13 in six Real Audio files. Listeners will be
able to vote whether they want the TV show to return. In
summary:
Who: "Dr. Who"
What: A new, audio episode
Where: BBC on the Web: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho
