WHY DO OVER 1,000 CUSTOMERS USE ZMOD FTP from TrailBlazer
Systems? Because native batch FTP scripting doesn't offer recovery,
encryption or data formatting options. ZMOD FTP is an
AS/400 based FTP client that provides S/MIME, SSL and TLS
encryption. It also provides automatic reformatting of
data (DDS <---> XML, CSVs, etc.). Best of all, you can
recover from an error WHEN IT OCCURS because every FTP
command is a CL command (MONMSG on GETs, PUTs, DELs....).
ZMOD FTP pays for itself the first time you prevent damage.
Why wait when you can implement reliable and secure FTP
NOW! For a FREE trial, visit http://www.as400ftp.com/s400

After weeks of speculation, IBM subsidiary Lotus
Development Corp. has introduced Sametime Everyplace 1.0, a
middleware application that lets Lotus software users
communicate with other instant-messaging users via mobile
phones and PDAs. Lotus anticipates slow adoption of
wireless instant messaging this year, with wider deployment
next year.

[2] "Compaq goes on counter offensive against IBM in Linux
clustering arena"
IBM may be in the Linux spotlight, but Compaq is doing a
little tap-dance to steal the show from Big Blue. The
server and storage giant, which claimed to have owned 30%
of Linux server revenues market share in 2000, is
partnering with San Diego Supercomputer Center, Scientific
Computing Associates and Scyld Computing Corp. to deliver
Linux clustering to its ProLiant server line.

[2] "From the Editor: IBM's "No excuses" strategy"
IBM says that its new development toolset, WebSphere
Development Studio (WDS) for iSeries, unveiled in the V5R1
Announcements in April 2001, gives shops no excuse not to
use them. According to IBM, WDS is easy to license and
distribute among your developers -- the tools work with
your existing code and offer PC-style efficiencies not
available with a 5250 PDM-style interface, including such
simple features as being able to see more on the screen at
one time.

"The push to push women higher"
Here is a test. Who is Bill Gates? Now, who is Carly
Fiorina? If you could answer the first but not the second
question, you are not alone. Despite being named the Most
Powerful Woman in Business by Fortune magazine, only 12% of
IT professionals recognize Hewlett-Packard's female CEO,
compared with 98% who recognize Gates. A new survey by
Roper Starch released by Deloitte & Touche, found few women
are leading tech companies. Only one of 10 surveyed said
the owner or CEO of their company was a woman. That is only
10%, compared to 17% in other industries. It makes those
stodgy, old economy firms look positively enlightened.
