[2] "IBM cuts Low Rate Financing program rate"
IBM has reduced its financing rate to 5.3%, down from 5.5%
for customers in its Low Rate Financing program. Not all
customers qualify for the low rate -- it is available only
to those with sterling credit ratings in North America,
Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Still, most customers in the
program obtain financing rates better than the 8.5% to 9%
that IBM typically charges, an IBM spokesperson said.

[3] "Computer Associates attacks plan"
In the midst of a proxy battle, the management of Computer
Associates International has taken its case to its
shareholders. The company sent a letter urging shareholders
to support keeping the company intact with its current
management. Texas billionaire Sam Wyly is trying to get
control of the company and has said he wants to split the
company into four units based on product areas.

[4] "IBM to shed 1,000 consulting jobs"
On Monday, IBM announced it's cutting 1,000 consulting and
service business jobs so employee skills better match
customers' needs. Workers have 30 days to find another job
in the company or will be terminated with severance. The

workforce.

"Tech-savvy teens swamp police with fake IDs"
Boy, technology sure does make things easier! Gone are the
days when teenagers had to rely on ingenuity and artwork to
piece together their fake IDs. These days, there are
actually Web sites that will do the work for them. Some
sites offer templates or kits for those teenage do-it-
yourselfers who still want to feel part of the process.
Others will save the kids the hassle and will produce
the doctored driver's licenses for them. And you wondered
why President Bush's daughters asked for a new computer for
Christmas!
