LEAD STORY
"WebSphere V4 trial bypasses iSeries customers"
Here's a shocker. iSeries users will not be among the
privileged few to get a sneak peek at the newest version of
WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Advanced Edition.
Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Linux users can download a
free, six-month trial version of WAS V4 for development and
evaluation purposes, but iSeries users will have to wait
until the final version hits the streets next month, and
then they'll have to pay to get their hands on it.

[3] "Wall Street braces for a Big Blue shoe to drop"
Will it or won't it? That's the question nagging at
analysts this week as IBM prepares to release its quarterly
report. While most observers expect a solid quarter, Wall
Street has been tied in knots for weeks over the notion
that IBM finally will give in to the widespread technology
slowdown and slash earnings guidance for the second half of
2001.

"T-shirt fills vitamin gap"
Tired of taking those daily vitamins? We turn to the land
of the rising sun for simultaneous breakthroughs in health
and fashion. A Japanese company says it has developed a
fibre containing a chemical that turns to Vitamin C on
contact with human skin. The juiced up T-shirts will have
the equivalent vitamin content of two lemons. No word yet
on what the tees will actually look like, but the smart
money is on fan-favorites such as "Have a nice day" and
"I'm with stupid."
