The bad news -- there is a virus known as "Peachy" that uses Adobe's popular PDF file format to spread. The good news -- the virus spreads only with Adobe's Acrobat, not through the free readers available for download all around the Web. Peachy exploits an Acrobat feature that embeds files within a PDF, but it can only be opened using Acrobat. Ever been frustrated because you just don't know what's gotten your moody mutt so miffed? You can soon get the answer straight from the horse's -- make that the DOG'S -- mouth. Inventors in Japan claim to have developed a high-tech canine translator. The gadget, called the Bow-lingual, can supposedly interpret a dog's barks and growls into human emotions. The Bow-lingual consists of a small microphone, attached to the dog's collar, that "reads" dog-speak by matching sounds to a set of pre-programmed wave patterns. There are plans to adapt the technology so that anxious owners, who are away from home, can be kept up to date with their dog's feelings delivered straight to their handset.
