Your input needed I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I recently joined the search400 team as news editor. It's been fun so far -- getting to know the iSeries market and following the news that affects you, the users. From security concerns and management issues to the future of the platform, there's plenty going on. But I need your help. I'd like to find out exactly what news topics YOU are most interested in reading about. The more I talk with iSeries users, the better our coverage can be. So please don't hesitate to e-mail me anytime at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and tell me what trends and issues you feel need to be better covered on search400. And don't pull any punches -- I'm tough. |

Status messages help users get through long jobs If you have users who run long jobs, chances are you have a problem with those users canceling jobs midway -- because they think the systems is hung up -- and then trying to rerun the job. All they probably need is a status update to assure them that everything is OK. This tip from site expert Tim Granatir shows you how you can create and use status messages to ease their mind, as well as make your job easier. |
