PROGRAM ENCOURAGES PARTNERS TO FOSTER ISERIES ORPHANS | News: iSeries
Network

iSeries customers who bought from IBM but sought support from
business partners sometimes feel orphaned, as partners weren't
ecstatic about missing out on the more profitable initial sales.
iSeries general manager Buell Duncan has instituted a policy this
year to address such situations. Big Blue now sends the majority of
profitable accounts to partners. IBM keeps for itself only the very
largest accounts -- generally those with revenue of more than $500
million. (Free registration to this site required.)

THE MISSING LINK | Sesame Street's Bert joins bin Laden on placards

Is Bert out of his conical, yellow head? Ernie's roomie from "Sesame
Street" has popped up at pro-Osama bin Laden rallies in Asia. Images
of the Muppet alongside the malevolent mastermind have begun
appearing on the placards of protesters in Bangladesh. A merchant in
Dhaka said he got stacks of the Bert/Osama print from someone who
claimed to have gotten it off the Internet. Bert's "legal guardian,"
Sesame Workshop, is livid. The New York-based non-profit said it is
looking at all legal avenues to stop the sullying of Sesame Street
and the bastardization of Bert. (Source: Reuters)
