It's a little more than a year since IBM renamed the AS/400 to the iSeries 400. During that time issues have come up that have caused some to question the future of this machine and IBM's commitment to it. Well, IBM wants to assure you that the iSeries is critical to the success of the eServer branding strategy. One way it is doing so is through a special broadcast followed by a two-hour open forum on search400.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 11 am EDT (15:00 GMT), Kim Stevenson, Vice President IBM eServer Marketing Operations, will talk about IBM's plan for the iSeries in an audio Webcast. Immediately following that -- from 12-2 pm EDT -- she and other IBM representatives will answer your questions in search400's Sound Off forum. You will have IBM's ear -- this is your chance to ask questions and get answers straight from the source.

To register to hear Kim Stevenson's presentation, call 1-800-289-0437 or 1-913-981-5508 (toll/international), pass code 572679. When you enroll, you will receive the dial-in number for the live call. And be sure to log on to search400's Sound Off forum after the presentation to post your questions.

Tip of the Week:
There are two operations codes (RPG/400) or built-in functions (RPG IV) that you may not realize are there. For RPG/400 they are XFOOT and XLATE, and in RPG IV they are %XFOOT and %XLATE. Site expert John Kohan shows you how they can give you powerful functionality and with very few lines of code. He also offers examples and the code you would use so you can start using these operations codes or functions today.
