Which way to the Web?
So, you want to put your apps on the Web? But with a number of technologies available to do it, which one will you chose?

There's Java -- an up-and-coming tool in the iSeries world. It's popular in many camps and considered highly effective, but there appears to be some resistance (or maybe it's reluctance) on the part of diehard RPG users to switch. IBM's new WebFacing tool, part of the WebSphere Development Studio for iSeries, is said to be easy to use and free -- if you already have WebSphere. IBM's Net.Data is also considered the technology of choice in many iSeries shops. And, of course, there's eRPG.

All technologies have pros and cons, but which one would you chose to bring your applications to the Web -- which one did you chose? Let us know, and tell us why. Take our poll and e-mail me if you'd like to explain why you chose the technology you did.

What can he do to correct this?

Problems started popping up when this user tried to run a trigger program he created on a local iSeries on a client machine. One problem: When a user kicks off the trigger, he gets an authority problem with QADBKFLD.

Tip of the Week:
Balance your disk usage for optimum performance
The iSeries does a better job of balancing and managing disk usage than probably any other machine in the industry, but there are times when things get a little out of sync. As of V4R4, IBM has provided a solution that will address several disk performance issues. It is the STRASPBAL command.
