"Dude" in this case is a Pennsylvania gunshop owner who ordered a notebook computer earlier this month. But the name of his shop, Weigand Combat Handguns Inc., triggered red flags within Dell's system, and the company denied dude's Dell. A tougher, post-9/11 screening system saw the word "combat" and nixed the notebook. Michael Dell himself said the company erred by canceling the computer order, and he offered the man his machine for free. No deal -- the customer refused and claims Dell is behind the gun control lobby. Dude, what a mess!
