RECOVERY SLOW FOR ISERIES JOB MARKET | News: Search400

Economists say the recession is over, but not all iSeries
professionals agree. For many, raises are slim if nonexistent, and
the number of iSeries jobs available remains low. There is a light
at the end of the tunnel, however.

IBM has released PTFs that patch security holes in V4R5 and V5R1

NATIVE AIX RUMORED FOR ISERIES | News: The Four Hundred
IBM will roll out full support for the AIX operating system running
within logical partitions on iSeries servers, possibly as soon as
the July release of OS/400 V5R2, possibly sometime in 2003. Support
for native AIX is seen by some as further evidence that IBM will
eventually merge the iSeries and pSeries server lines.

THE MISSING LINK | Game show glitch disappoints new millionaire

Lertrak Panjanawaporn of Thailand lost her fortune a lot faster
than Hammer or Vanilla Ice lost theirs. The 44-year-old street
peddler got on the Thai version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,"
and her final answers were all right -- she won one million baht.
But, the bundle of baht was not to be. Her fortune quickly turned
to misfortune when the show's organizers realized she had the
mother of all lifelines. Evidently, technicians got some wires
crossed, and the computer monitor she was looking at not only had
the questions, it had the answers too, highlighted in green. They
had to do the show over again -- she won 25,000 baht in the replay.
