IBM's storage chief, Linda Sanford, said she has seen the future of
storage and it includes products that take care of themselves.
Sanford indicated that IBM would be announcing new products "soon"

of the iSeries 400. I previously thought it was restricted to some
area. Now I am concerned that a PC application might be able to load

This could be the toast of technology -- a smart glass that knows
when it's time for a refill. The glass is covered in a clear,
conducting material that can sense when there's no more High Life
left. A radio coil in the base of the glass then sends an SOS (save
our suds) to whomever is pouring alerting them that it's Miller time
again. No more hunting down a wayward server! A spokesman for about
500 British pubs said, however, that the idea won't fly in the U.K.
Britons, he said, like going to the bar for the next round.
