"LIMIT" CLAUSE IN MYSQL | Advice: Search400

Dear Ask the Expert,
I have a very large file on my iSeries 400 and I want to use SQL.
I want to access records page wise. There is some clause like
"LIMIT" in mySQL by which I can limit my resultant records to "n"
number starting from a particular offset. How can I get similar
functionality in iSeries? Application development expert John
Brandt offers some advice.

ATTEMPTING TO USE THE SNDNETSPLF COMMAND | Advice: Search400

One user writes, "When attempting to use the SNDNETSPLF command, I
get the following message: User not enrolled in system
distribution directory. Any idea what this means? I'm a novice
when it comes to using the iSeries 400 and not sure how to word my
request."

EXPERT PROFILE | Pascal Jacquemain, DB2/400 & DB2 UDB expert

Pascal Jacquemain is an analyst/programmer at Gulliver Travel in
London. Prior to that, he worked at TRW automotive products in
Washington, Tyne and Wear, and as an iSeries 400 instructor at
Sierra Training, also in London. He got his start in programming
when he was 17 and working at Unilog, a software house in Paris.
There he was trained on S/36 and S/38. He left Unilog after two
years but continued working in France, using RPG/400, RPG/IV, SQL
(including embedded) and OPNQRYF. Three years later he moved to
the United Kingdom, where he currently works and lives. "Wherever
I worked, I tried to complement my knowledge of the iSeries,"
Pascal says. "This enabled me to learn a lot about several
subjects, not just programming but also performance and other
system administration tasks."

Pascal's happy to answer your DB2/400 or DB2 UDB-related
questions.
