TOO LATE TO SWITCH TO ILE? | iSeries Network

Hesitant users who didn't switch to RPG ILE when it was released as
part of V2R3 in December 1993 are finding that the language has
evolved dramatically without them. A recent survey states that 74%
of iSeries users are now using RPG ILE. (Free registration to this

DEALING WITH THE SST PASSWORD AT V5R1 | Forum advice: Search400

"F7Firecat" wonders if there is a way to get around having a service
tools password in V5R1? He writes, "We are a development shop 100%
and our developers have to go into SST quite often. One will try a
password and get it wrong until he has disabled it causing us to
have to reset it to something else. We send a note to everyone with
the new password, but then the next guy tries a week or two later
and forgets that it has been changed and he disables it. This is
happening so frequently that it is a real problem. Is there a way to
get around having a password on SST at V5R1." Do you know the best
way to deal with this problem?

THE MISSING LINK | Chicken feathers used in computer

You've heard it over and over again: "It tastes like chicken." That
flavorful simile can be applied to epicuriosities like frog legs,
alligator, swamp rat and now computer chips. Yep, some plucky
scientists in Delaware were looking for ways to build chips from
"recycled" material. They found that chicken feathers work well
because they have hollow but sturdy shafts that conduct electricity
the way Arthur Fiedler conducted the Boston Pops. The researchers
used soybean resin and feathers to create a chip that looks and
feels like silicon -- maybe it tastes like silicon, too. Just think,
one of these days you may be able to get a free-range computer
chip.
