How does your salary compare?
Is your salary is on par with other iSeries pros or is it time to ask for a raise? Find out in Search400's new interactive salary survey. We're starting fresh with this newly launched survey to get a better idea of what the iSeries job market is like these days. Are salaries going up or down? Are people putting in more hours. How happy are they with their jobs? Take the survey and find out.
This is a brand new salary survey, so if you took our previous survey, those results aren't included. You need to come back and input your latest information.
Still have questions about job hunting and career issues? Search400 also has a career center. This career center can help you get a job in the specific IT field you are looking for. It can also help you find professionals that are already employed at the companies you are interested in. And if you still need some career advice, Search400 expert Victorio Sbrega is on hand to answer your questions.
Also keep your eyes open for a series of career and training Webcasts that will be broadcast on Search400. Our first one will be Networking your way into a new job on Sept. 12 with expert Rick Nashleanas. Rick will talk about effective networking strategies to help you land a job.
Don't feel like you need to struggle with career issues, there are plenty of resources on Search400 to help you out.

Change the owner on all objects at once
In this post, bresinj says his shop is migrating to the 400 from another platform. The developers are working with both the program and the data objects on the development machine. Management doesn't want the developers to be the owners of any objects once in production. Is there any way to change the owner on all objects in a library all at once? A couple users, including Search400 expert Shahar Mor, offer advice.

Webfacing woes
Brad was having problems with Webfacing. He wrote, "We have been trying (by trial and error) for the past month to get Webfacing working. After installing PTFs and doing the HTTP setup, WAS setup, etc., we finally got it to work. Over the weekend, we applied the last few PTFs from IBM that we were missing and IPL'd the machine. Now, pages from Webfacing will not work." Search400 expert Jim Mason has some suggestions. |

Three don'ts of WebSphere administration
On the surface, an article that detailed how to monitor WebSphere jobs on the iSeries seemed like a great idea. The programs provided would allow you to track WebSphere on iSeries jobs and send out alerts via e-mail or a pager if a job experienced a problem. But after looking a little deeper, Bob Cancilla saw this developer made some serious errors. Find out what he did wrong and how to avoid making those mistakes yourself. |

Has a Web services implementation paid off for your organization?
The hype surrounding Web services seems to be greater than the actual use of the technologies. Companies are waiting for others to adopt it to see how it works. Have you invested in Web services? If so has it paid off?
